Friday Night Craft Night

Exciting Friday night here in Orting.  I have been experimenting with some new paint techniques for my coasters. 

These are the ceramic tiles.  Still a work in progress but I am liking the effects so far.

Hello Friends!

What a beautiful weekend we have had.  I wish I did not have to go into work today.  It would be nice to go out and enjoy it again today.  Keeping my fingers crossed that tomorrow is another day of sunshine and blue skies! 

Running the Orting trail yesterday was refreshing and energizing...

Day 1 - Here we go

We must let go of the life we have planned, so as to accept the one that is waiting for us.  Joseph Campbell

Never in a million years would I have believed that I would be where I am today.  This is definitely not the life I had planned, but you know what?  I don't mind.  This is exactly where I want to be.  I would like to invite you to join me on this road to self discovery and we can learn new things together.

Who said you can't teach a old dog new tricks?  My goal with this blog is to learn all kinds of new tricks.  Whether it is a new craft, recipe for my crock pot or even reading the next great novel.

I am have already learned so many new things this year.  A few of my accomplishments are opening an Etsy shop http://www.etsy.com/shop/SwingingInTheBreeze you can also visit my pinterest page http://pinterest.com/carissadewittg/ and last but not least I started my Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/SwingingInTheBreeze.  I still need to work on my photography.  I am not a very accomplished photographer, any suggestions?  As soon as I have finished snapping all my photos of my coasters I will offer a give-a-way to my fellow bloggers and Facebook friends.  Hopefully this will come in the beginning of next week.
